Nazi Propaganda comparisons? HoleeSh*t man, get serious.

The amount of fragility about a comic (regardless whether it's funny or not) here is pretty pathetic.

Some of my best friends wear lycra, and I'm ok with that.

Well, I do give @Andy_K a ration of manure when he wears his hideous Maryland state flag jersey, but that would be ugly in wool.

FWIW, Maryland has one of the the coolest flags I can think of. If I lived in Maryland, I'd absolutely want that flag on my kit.

Using the word "fragility" does almost as much to promote open discussion as the word "Nazi". If you could throw in "privilege", "heteronormative", and "neurodivergent", you'd be golden.

Flag, maybe.
Jersey, looks like a Rorschach test

Are you saying that using the term 'neurodivergent' hinders open discussion? If you are saying that, how does it hurt open discussion? If you arent saying that, then why reference it?

^ And I know I just used it while pushing back, which could mean I am using the term and not promoting open discussion. But I am in fact quite curious about what you are even referring to. Where I live, that really isnt a controversial or charged term. Its just...a current descriptor term.

I'm saying there are lots of buzzwords that get used loosely and tend to derail conversations.

Who knew multi-syllabic descriptors could be so triggering for some folks. It’s like they’re secret passcodes for unleashing some pre-programmed fight-or-flight response.

Interesting. I havent experienced 'neurodivergent' being a buzzword that derails conversations. Similarly, I havent experirenced 'neurotypical' being a term that is either accepted or polarizing.
This is something I havent seen or heard of, so it wasnt on my radar. I use that term like once every few months probably, but the next time I use it or hear it, I will definitely look for how it is received by those participating in the conversation.

I am still unsure why that term is one that would tend to derail conversations. Its just a term to describe how some people think and interact with the world.

Could it possibly be that non-cyclists—the vast majority of this strip’s fans—actually see some truth in it?

yeah, that's why I asked if his brother likes him. His brother took the time to send a comic strip that hates on cyclists to his cyclist sibling.

JEEBUSCRIST, some of you people are really REALLY thin-skinned. OMG!

Reminds me of my ex-wife, couldn't take any criticism at all, no matter how true, no matter how gentle, no matter how helpful.

I probably made some enemies now but that's ok, get on line. smh

Yeah, he does. He's my older brother and has been teasing/torturing me my entire life. I'm one of seven and teasing runs in the family. My father always used to tease people and would say: "I wouldn't tease you, if I didn't like you."

As I tell people who can't take my bantering: "You gotta lighten up."

Hey, you used "triggered"! You get extra points for jargon.

It isn’t so much “hating” on cyclists as much as it is “ripping” on cyclists. A distinction a lot of people here simply won’t understand.
