Facilitators 2016 Update - Can you facilitate a bike sale from your area?
The old facilitator's thread seems to have died with no updates in years, so here's an attempt to start a fresh one with current info:
FACILITATORS: People willing to go through the considerable hassle of picking up and packaging a bike or bike parts, and shipping to a recipient. Or it could be as simple as picking up a bike and dropping it off at a Bike Shop or freight company for shipping.
Why? Just to do a solid for some C&Ver they've probably never even met. Sounds crazy, no? Either way, good karma.
The details of the transactions have to be worked out between each Facilitator and his/her Recipient. Obviously, given the anonymous nature of the internet, there is considerable room for misunderstanding, shenannigans and outright fraud, so Facilitators and Recipients should proceed with caution on any given transaction. If you get a bad vibe somewhere along the way - it may be a sign! Adding your name to this list doesn't mean you're willing to fill every request that comes your way, it just means you're able and willing to do it if the circumstances allow. Case-by-case basis.
The old facilitator's thread has a lot of good points to consider about the mechanics of making this kind of thing work, and all Facilitators/Recipients are encouraged to go back and read the first post on that thread to make sure this kind of thing will work out for them.
Below is the old Facilitators list; many (if not most) of whom have dropped off the forums, moved to some other locale or otherwise have become unavailable for what they signed up for many years ago. Life happens. 2016 updates will appear in green text. These are the current folks who may (or may not, depending on circumstances) be able to help you score that great bike on their local CL or eBay "local pickup only" ad.
If you are flagged here and you can still do that facilitatin' thing you do, please respond down thread or PM me and let me know if you have any updates on locale, availability, etc. For those of you do not respond, I'll do a "last call" down thread in about a month, then drop your user handle from the list, editing* as we go.

I have already facilitated once in NYC so if I am uncommitted at the time I will certainly do it again.

I'm probably not able to do Seattle any more as I'm hardly there. Can definitely do central Washington.

I can assist with Monmouth or Ocean county which covers most of the Jersey Shore. Ideally, I would prefer not to pack and ship...happy to pick up and deliver to a shop that will.

I'm not dead yet (/Python voice)
I can and am willing to facilitate within the Wasatch front/back areas. If you don't know what that encompasses, ask and I'll tell you if I can assist.

Been moving around quite a bit, as usual, but settled now in Chicago SW suburbs for the time being. Happy to facilitate from here.
Have family in Comox BC and north of Winnipeg, MB, whom I visit occasionally, like once a year, so I could facilitate from those locations on a timing constrained basis.

Please add me - I am available in Columbus, OH and near suburbs. On occasion, I travel to the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor as well.

I can facilitate in Orange County, CA. No longer in Raleigh, NC. I also do a lot of road miles in CA and if it is my range, I will try to make it happen.

I can help out in the Cincinnati-Dayton, and Northern Kentucky area (which is under the Cincinnati CL). I occasionally find myself driving back east to the Harrisburg, PA area, so there's a partial transport option that is sometimes available.

I've facilitated several times in the Boston area and am willing to do it again, but ask that the buyer take care of all negotiations and payment before I get involved. I don't want to be in a position to recommend or reject the sale except in really obvious cases (e.g., the frame is clearly bent).

AFAIK I am neither ephemeral nor transparent (though my sweetie doesn't always hear things I say, but that's okay because she thinks I don't always hear what she says either). So I can help out in the Boston area. Contact me first. Time, space, other stuff are limitations so I may have to say no, but anyone can ask. If I don't have time I'll just have to decli
