In my pre-race fantasizing and Velogames team picking, I glanced briefly at Jack Haig but then discounted him because he would be working for Landa. I did briefly consider the possibility that Landa would make an early exit but, no, be charitable and optimistic, and him fresh off a strong showing, I put that thought away and offered him an olive branch to come back across the River Styx.
I also steered clear of the Movistar trident because I expected the wheels to come off that train in some spectacular fashion.
Wrong on both accounts. At least until today, sort of. Valverde's crash was bad luck, Mas has been terrific, and it took until stage 20 for Miguel Angel Lopez to throw the wobbler. So all in, still some fine racing from the big white M, yet again they have not failed to impress on the drama side of things.
Checking just now, ooga-booga , I see you didn't pick him but I know you've been watching your boy.

some serious separation in the last stage or two...things are looking pretty set on the podium.

Don't get me wrong. I don't wish evil upon these souls. I'm a gentle and charitable person who might even hope for good for them. If they were still alive and wish- or hope-worthy, i.e. not dead to me and wish- / hope-less.

I posted an inventory a while back but can't find it at the moment. That sounds like a great off-season endeavor. I find it's fine to curse and defame but best not to dtm someone lightly in a casual moment of despair. It takes a bit of distance to properly calibrate the appropriate application of eternal damnation with extreme prejudice. And, yes, after Mikel just ruined a chance of salvation for everyone else, eternal means eternal.

it's definitely earned. just because your daily horrible prediction/broho side bet didn't come to pass once, twice or even thrice doesn't mean someone automatically garners the dtm designation. it's a carefully curated pantheon of stink. the greater the talent, the smellier...slcbob and myself (and others) may be in agreement on the goat...

Interesting gossip column spin on the Lopez-Unzue relationship at the tail end of this one.

I wonder if there will be another season of the Movistar show. I could squeeze it into my stupid guilty pleasure viewing next to Below Deck.

I'd like thank the members of BikeForums and Velogames for making this victory possible. And a special thanks to my low cost stars, Enric Mas and Magnus Cort Nielsen, without whom this victory wouldn't be possible. Finally, I'd like to acknowledge the Americans who selflessly contributed to their team's successes, including Sepp "the Durango kid" Kuss, Lawson "Tex" Craddock, Joe "Dumbo" Dombrowski and Quinn "the beard" Simmons. What a great way to end the grand tour season!

¡wowzers! team No bueno smoked it. came on like gangbusters, rocketed to the top of the charts and stayed there.
congrats to team No bueno for claiming the top no-prize and finishing so high up overall! not bad for a quick pick.
team AarhusKarlshamn-Diamyd Medical was steady throughout rocking the matthews/cort connection and finished in second.
team Wheelsuckers completes the podium with the prescient pix of haig and jakobsen. all three teams killed it in the overall,
finishing well within the top ten percent of all teams! congrats to all that participated in the last grand tour of the year and hope
to see you in the spring for the battle for the maglia rosa/maglia nera!
