Soak the saddle iin water for about an hour and it will become super pliable. Then you must shape it. I used rolled up shop towels stuffed into the underside of the saddle then wrap it with string to reshape it. Set it in a corner and let it dry thouroughly. Unwrap it and rub Brooks proof ride into it on the top and underneath. give the topsides 3 or 4 treaments then buff the leather with a terry towel. If the leather sags when you try to ride it tighten the front adjustment screw slightly but not over tight. If the rivits are not flush yopu can take a hammer and hammer them flat(carefully , just tap lightly).
