Thanks for the info. I was wondering what the CARLTON sticker on the frame meant and the serial number does start with W.

Your frame was made in June 1976. Given the 0000001 number, it could have been the first made that month.

That's great to know! Thanks very much!

I got it back together and it feels pretty good. I put 25 bearings top and bottom. Fortunately, I had a few extras from the last bike I did. I cleaned up the brake hanger too. Looks better, but it's pretty far gone.

Industrial bearing suppliers can get or have in stock loose bearing balls Grade 25 chrome steel.

Looks great! I've just gone after that sort of brake hanger with some abrasive or wire brush to remove the loose stuff, and then painted it silver. Take some Brasso or Bartender's Friend to that head badge.

Took the bike out for short ride today after cleaning and greasing the bottom bracket. It rides pretty nice, but will need to a longer ride in to be sure.

Still needs some bar tape, but I can't decide whether to go with original white or something that matches the leather saddle. 'll try the Brasso on the head badge too.

Thanks again for all the help.

Here's a pic.

Very nice. Go easy with the Brasso; a little goes a long way.
