Yeah, I have seen those, but I (incorrectly) assumed that they all double-clamped on the frame, not the seatpost and the frame.

I personally think that power meters should get closer to the feet (i.e. measure using crank arms, pedal spindles, or force plates/cleats on pedals) than further away.
Had a couple of Ergomo's. Mine worked well, but you could make them read horrificaly huge numbers if you pedalled backwards. The problem they had was business funding and that they were wedded to a BB spindle (square taper or octalink). Rotor is a variation on the deflection theme...there's a lot of shortcomings to doing a one leg analysis.

Nice thing about the double clamp is that you can release the lower clamp when removing the seatpost, leaving the upper clamp tight. Never guess at saddle height again when taking your bike apart.

Quite possibly nothing, they're partners with pinarello now, but only use them for road. I suspect more of the same.

Yeah. But I would expect Cervelo to be pretty involved in testing and engineering, and I guess I wouldn't put it past this partnership for Cervelo to somehow absorb/incorporate the Katsanis work. We'll see. It'll be a curiousity.

Maybe. I think a lot of the heavy engineering talent has left cervelo though, so I'm not sure they're still the same company in a testing/forefront of design sense.

I never knew the name of the person responsible for making the British Super Bikes. Thanks!

If I were the British, I'd continue to use Katsanis' equipment. I can't see them using any of Cervelo's current track offerings. The bikes they currently have in the fleet are 100x better. There's no way that the track squad would agree to that.

I'd hope Katsanis has well protected his IP, Cervelo has been trying to make an aero bike that doesn't flex for years....

I've found Martyn Irvine's blog to be enjoyable: Racing to nowhere but going places

I particularly like the post about his custom road bike that duplicates his track bike position. Pretty cool.

I did that with my Tarmac and I think it helped me. Same saddle set-back, same leg extension, same crank length. The only difference was that my bars were like 2 inches higher.

That being said, my road rides were relatively short (2 hrs max) compared to others on the road and I didn't climb anything.

That's a funny clip. Impressive how much he's using his upper body. Really pulls his legs to the pedals.

Keirin maybe? I mean, she's probably got killer bike handling skills from BMX and Jamie Staff won a World Championship in the Keirin when he was relatively new to the track (less than 3 years as a trackie).

I guess we'll have to see what events she rides in World Cups as a clue.

I know she did the team sprint last time. Added to that BMX is all about a powerful start. One of the reasons she started on the track in the first place. I guess a 500 will be almost the same effort as a BMX race (probably a bit more)
