Wrong color bike ordered & built

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On the other hand, if the written copy of your order shows the wrong purchase color, I would bet you're likely to encounter some problems.

Well I do not mind a good fight, but I also know there are battles I can not win. Paper trail is the best thing to have. Copy of original oreder, or e-mail correspondence.

I hve zero tollorence for incompetent people who do not right thing down. I do not care how good youjr memory is write it down.

Get a copy of what they write down when doing anything out of the norm.

Well if I had been the bike shop taking the order I would have had the customer initial the order after checking it twice.

Yeah, it sounds like they screwed up. That's unfortunate. I had a good experience ordering a bike not-in-stock from my LBS. And since they did not ask for a deposit, I had no paperwork. But I watched them order the bike from the distributor on the computer.

Why would you insult his wife, etc., by calling them a whit?

The bike shop ordered and built the correct model, but it's the WRONG color because it's the women's Bike. I HATE the color. I haven't picked up the bike yet. What do I do??? Do I have to take that bike? It was a $4,500 purchase.
OP, it would be interesting to hear how the LBS resolved your situation. Please give an update when you hear more.

This is why other people end up getting great deals. My friend had a Giant Propel frame that lists for about $4k for around $1500 because shop ordered wrong size for another customer and friend is about 6'2 so he happened to fit the frame and they wanted to get rid of it
