Big band isn't quite my thing, but I dig. I listen primarily to smaller combos and more modern jazz. You big on anything anything in particular? Also, here's a big band ft. Monk recording that I DO like...
I'm currently digging this track from a (current) pianist. It's very cerebral and pervasive in my mind. Kinda more like a classical rondo in a sense with a repeating motif/melody and continuous flow in between.

After music night last night, we went on a bit of a Beatles tirade. My guitar player mentioned that his favorite song was Her Majesty... What a choice!
In other news, we played Well You Needn't for the first time together and killed it!!! He was a little daunted by the chords at first, but when you realize that every interval in the song is a half-step increment, its becomes easy when you realize it's all about rhthym and chromaticism - almost doesn't matter what you play as long as you modulate it to the beat.

Neat stuff @TimothyH, very old school. Sounds a lot like some Nat King Cole.

She has a classic voice.
See below for some Joey Alexander, another child jazz prodigy, playing in a more TMonk preferred style

This is for sure a re-post on my behalf (at some point)...
Cal Tjader 1956. The intricacy of the rhythm section was "Miles ahead" at the time. Nowadays one would say that this **** is spitting "hot fire".
