Even with the dent, this is a special bike, so certainly if you have the means and inclination, you should get another beater bike for around town.

There are some folks who frequent the forums who do frame repairs, so I'm sure several of them will be along soon to give an opinion on what your repair options are.
Rear wheel has a a puncture. Took wheel off to get bike back in car and just put it back in frame to move about. When. I did ride it wheel was central and seemed to ride ok but only manage about 20mins until blowout.

Edit: Yellow Jersey may have replacement decals

Would kinda of make sense as brother in law, who gave me the bike, his wife is from Wisconsin so it may of be hers or one of her family members

Edit: my last submission was made just before the OP added his most recent pics. I was wondering about the semi-wrap seat stay caps; never saw that, nor the lack of engravings on any 3 Rensho.

Too bad, still, about the damage...

New tyres on and new cables and housing fitted to brakes. They seem alot better now, will get out for a little test ride later just to see.

New saddle and bar tape next on list and then time to hunt for a campagnolo nouvo record front derailleur and some shimano 600 wheels with mavic rims to keep it all original

will then decide on whether to repair frame and respray

Just out of interest what are these bike worth? Not that I'm looking to sell. Just would like to know 😁😁

Nice bike. Did you figure out why the rear wheel was so heavily misaligned? I hope it wasn't due to the bent seat stay.

You can get an idea of the value by posting in the C&V Whats it Worth section of the forum, or by checking completed listings on eBay.

The short version: your frame is absolutely worth repairing and if you're not ready/willing, plenty of folx on this board would show up to take it off your hands

I had taken the wheel off to get bike in car. Hadn't put it back on properly. That's why it was misaligned. Took it out today and rides like a dream. Wouldn't think its 34 years old
