Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

you must always shave, how will people know you are a good cyclist otherwise?
I nominate this as 41's official slogan.

If using a hair removal cream or lotion I recommend you do not get any on your scrotum. It will burn and possibly even bleed. Legs and arse (but not hole) are fine. A good exfoliation cream will last longer than a shave and produce a “finer” stubble as it grows back in.

I'm too slow to shave my legs. I look the part of a real road biker... I've got a decent bike with color-scheme matching shoes, gloves, jersey and helmet... I'm just slow because I'm a beginner.

If I were to shave my legs, and have the full color matched setup, the guys passing me while I'm pushing hard at 16mph would wonder what's wrong with me. My hairy legs let everyone know that I'm green.

The real slogan of the 41 is "What can I buy to make me faster?"

Ooops, I missed a spot or 2. Did a quickie shave for now, then skipped work to do a nice hard 50 miler with a couple of guys.

Love the song. Heard it thousands of times on vinyl and a couple of times live.

I don't know, but I've been told: It's hard to run with a weight of gold.
On the other hand I've heard it said: It's just as hard with a weight of lead.

Awesome lyric. MKULTRA any influence here?

And I shave my legs. It is too freakin' hot in Florida to train in the summer with wooly leg warmers.

I think it helped me keep up with a guy that usually drops me, but my average speed seemed about the same.

I never understand why you would shave. I recently scraped my leg and had a number of cuts. I showered and used a anti bacteria soap to clean the cuts. The leg hair healed just fine.

I think shaving is just a part of biking style and has no other practical purpose.

I always thought of it like the difference between crashing a Motorcycle wearing leather (shaved) versus jeans (hairy).

I don't shave and I wear jeans while riding a motorcycle. Yeah, I live on the edge.
