Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A friend flatted with some really deep carbon something wheels and the stem on his tube wasn't long enough so someone handed him an extender. He couldn't get the tube in with the extender on so he tried to push the stem in and then put the extender on it. Of course he dropped the extender inside the rim. I think someone patched the original tube because he couldn't get the extender out.
The thing made a lot of noise until he got up to speed and it was forced against the rim. It was weird every time we slowed for a light and it started clunking again.

Well, I didn’t crash, I didn’t podium, I learned a lot.

I was the only one from my team in the Cat 4/5 race. Seemed like everyone else there was on a team and they were all working well together. The front kept slowing way down on the back stretch, I took the bait twice and took the front. Everyone hung back let me blow myself up. By the last lap I didn’t have anything left for a sprint. Pretty disappointed, but I did have fun. Just wish I knew better.

It was pretty hot today, hottest I have ridden in this year, and that def, affected me. My heart rate was pretty high from the get go.

Not sure what I placed but I know it wasn’t good. My wife and daughter came to watch, and the daughter had to use the potty which prompted a quick exit.

Told the wife to take pictures, she was sitting right at the first turn. This was all she took…………..

It's only 70 miles away, as the crow flies (albeit a pain to drive). Are you going to Chimney Rock/Lake Lure?

If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. SMH.

You could get those for $300 not too long ago.

That thing looks like it just came out of the box though!

The weird photoshop blur is giving me the willies though.

Waitaminnit, what's going on with that crazy rear derailleur? Sora Triple? N/M about the straight out of the box comment

And the final climb tot he campground is a Richard punch. Yesterday morning I stopped on Hopewell Rd. There was a giant cat in a horse corral. I called to him but realized he was stalking something. He pounced into some tall grass and emerged with what looked like a mouse in his mouth.

I'd say 40% improvement in range of motion. I can turn my head to the right now and look up slowly. Lots better.
