Diff_lock2, run a cable from the dummy brake lever to the shifter for an extra bonus point.

Edit: oops, there is no dummy lever... a pretty conversion nevertheless.

Yup- it turned out to be only 10 bucks more then the generic pake fork because the distributor made a mistake. I took the shop up on their offer so I'm happy with it.

My first SS build on a budget. What's with the bias against suicide levers?

I have a rush. The fork is comes unthreaded and its easier to set it up threadless even though its 1 inch.

Well.... did some work on my Giant today as I'm going to be selling it tomorrow to make room for a new bike which will have pics when its done. However I hadn't posted any pictures of my Cervelo for a while, and I have changed a few things. Lemme know what ya'll think. I know I need to clean my cog... that will be for another day though.

You should put risers on it and do barspins.

Nice. Do you use it on the track? Why the TT protector?

Probably to protect the top tube from the bars. It seems like everyone thinks that horns can't hit the top tube, they can and do.

I'm still not a member of the risers fan club, but one day I will have to toy with them

Thanks. No track nearby. Mostly use it for distance rides on the bike trails/paths south of town. Longest run yet on it is 70 Miles give or take. Rides like a dream. As Mugatu said, horns can hit the TT as well. hence the need for a TT protector. They work wonders

i can't imagine skidding/skipping on that thing, especially if those are the spined dura ace cranks.

It's geared 50/15. It sucks to try and skid, so usually I don't worry about it. The trails I ride are very safe, and I try to ride with a couple of my geared buddies so that they can give me the clear or not on the few intersections we have to cross. Front brake might be in that bikes future, but for right now I'm holding off due to lack of funds.

i'm not trying to stir the pot here, or provoke another unnecessary brake vs. brakeless debate, but that build doesn't cry out "lack of funds" to me when i look at it. brakes aren't all that expensive compared to various other parts. just sayin'.

Thanks. Proper lighting and distance hide imperfections. It's in nice shape overall, but it does have it's share of scratches and chips.

Have had the bike for a year now. Didn't ride it much in dec, jan, feb due to sick/weather/vacation. Short on funds as I'm moving to Boston come Sept, and I need to build up my new commuter first. Don't worry, I'm pro brakes (even if people don't use em, they're good to have IMHO). Brake is def coming when I can get to it.

Oh and don't worry, I have a helmet too

Feel free to fill me in on this one and even feel so free as to provide photographic evidence of how the bars hit the TT on that Cervelo.

The bars are above the TT and either run parallel to it or away from it. I am completely unable to visualize how the bars would strike the TT. Oh wait, if a bolt comes loose on the stem...now I can see it.

since the head tube is at an angle, the bars, which are parallel to the top tube when facing straight ahead, would connect with it as they rotate around.
