For the tightest, most problematic fits I,ve ever encountered, soapy water on the rim plus Coolstop Bead Jack worked.

I don't think it was the Vittoria Zaffiro tires that was the problem. I think it was those Matrix rims. I seem to remember although I could be wrong that I had other tires that were also very hard to mount on the matrix rims. I had no problem when I transferred the Zaffiro tires to other wheels.
