In France one carries baguettes on the front rack. In Germany, a six pack of beer.

So, you have to pedal to France and get some food, than pedal over to Germany to get something to drink to go with the food.

my wife and I biked into Basel , where France,Germany and Swizterland all share a border ish, so we could have biked into Germany for the beer, France for the baguette and then Switzerland for the holey cheese to go onto the bread, all in about 15 mins
