Confirming I plan to join you guys, if the air is somewhat clean. If it gets much above an index of 50 I may not ride as far and would resist strenuous climbs. I’ll hope for the best. I’ll confirm one way or the other.

No big climbs, a couple short efforts. Yeah, the AQI is a big factor. So far, we've been lucky on the Peninsula and with luck it will hold.

@genejockey and I are finishing up the cue sheet and including some pictures to provide a visually on some of the turns.

We're targeting to have this done in the next day or so.

There seemed to be a lot of interest. PM one of us if you'd like us to send you the documents ahead of time. Otherwise we will have some copies of the cue sheet (W/O pictures) at the start.

Looking forward to meeting some of you.

There's a significant chance the air quality on Saturday may not be great. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't like to ride in anything over 100 AQI (adjusted for woodsmoke), and it's above that over most of our planned route right now.

I'd suggest, if you're interested in riding, PM SwimmerMike and/or me in the next couple days, so we can let you know Saturday AM early whether the ride is a GO.

An aside. I was last in Cameron Park in 1975 ish. Probably changed some.
I hope the air clears and you have a bang up time.

Brace yourself, Seeds...They've torn down Sam's Town and replaced it with a supermarket. Way back in the 1970's this was still a very small community. Now it's been swallowed up by developers and has basically just become a connected suburb of Sacramento.

One of the fires that's causing the bad air down there is only twenty miles from my place here, and I know folks that have already had to evacuate to shelters. I really thought the peninsula would've been immune to the smoke but I guess it all just depends on which way the wind blows.

I just checked Airnow and they are forecasting better air quality for tomorrow.

We will be using the realtime data from PurpleAir along the route and hold the ride if the AQI is below 100. Today it's right at the border of the limit with 90's and some number a bit above 100 on PurpleAir. If we call it off, we will post it in the morning. If anyone wants a text or email if we are cancelling please PM me contact information. Based on the forecast, I'm pretty sure we will be holding the ride. But, last year I learned that the AQI forecasts are about as accurate as weather forecasts....

Afraid that I have to bail on this ride due to other events. Have a great ride folks!

The air quality locally is just too unfit for me to ride this morning, I’m seeing readings over 100. It’s supposed to start clearing up this afternoon but I’ll pass on today’s ride. I look forward to future rides.

RESCHEDULED.

I’ve emailed those that I had email addresses for. Right now the air is over the 100 limit and it does not appear to be trending down.

We will reschedule this out 1 week. I’ll start a new thread with the new date in the title.

Good thing I was sitting down. Thanks
