Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's funny... Did you hear the one about the legislator from Mi.? Got caught after an accident, drunk, with a drunk female passenger, both of them naked from the waist down. He then tried to use his office to get out of trouble.
Something Jones... just caught a video of the cops dash cam as he first tried to intimidate the cop then they wrestled him to the ground. Just last night if I saw it right.
Never a dull moment.

Will try to do. They usually stay away from the road since they are on a very large tract. You don't want to get close to an ostrich any way.

Something I thought of on my ride. If the rims have some old glue on them, a butter knife does a beautiful job cleaning them up.

I'm rethinking the whole "unbuilding the wheels" idea after spending a long evening working on the front with Scotchbrite Brasso, and an astonishing number of paper towels. Date stamp puts these at May, 1981, so they're "age appropriate" for the Lotus. The cones are in great shape, notwithstanding how crunchy the front felt. And after an overnight soak in Evaporust, the bits all look.... well, not like new, but not like crap, either.

Oh, yes, they have old glue. REALLY old glue. I have plenty of butter knives, but I think I'll try some mineral spirits and let chemistry do the work first!

That sale looks amazing! I'll have to see if I can get there. It'll be the day after my second jab....

You bet.

Haven't flown in the last year plus! Just starting to get back to it. Currently have to trip to STL in July to see the folks and a sailing trip in STT in January (but connecting through MIA). Might hit Arizona in October. Don't know when I'll have a chance to get to Charlotte.

Interesting factoid: My dad was in Harrisburg the day before the event. Luckily he GTFO before it hit the fan.

I was planning on doing a ride today but my pain level is a bit higher than it has been. Of course it is because 2021. I might ride anyway since I haven't done anything stupid lately.

if you are vaccinated and dining indoors in a small group, do you still need a mask? Why?
