Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If I leave at 7 AM I won't get to k-ville until 3 or 3:30 and my home is ~3 hours from there. No time for riding, just a brief howdy and off I go. A ride can be planned later but I really haven't ridden much now that I'm on Beta blockers for A Fib. I'm currently in the worst fitness level since I don't know when. I haven't experienced riding up a big hill yet with reduced horsepower either. I hear it can be disheartening.
In summary, I'm *****d.
Is that enough excuses?

Speaking of A FIB, a friend of mine just ended up in the ICU for heart failure due to A FIB. He never had any symptoms, just gained a lot of water weight over night and had trouble breathing. Took himself to the hospital, sounds like it saved his life.

We're here because we're cyclists, supposedly, and you want to go to REI.

like I needed to hear that.

This week I had to go off of my blood thinners to get the epidural steroid injection and on two separate days at work this week I had about an hour of my heart fluttering and probably was in A Fib. without the blood thinner I could have had a stroke.

In short, I'm *****d.

Indeed. One day I ordered a crapload of bike tools online, and later ran out to REI for a multitool, and there was every single tool I'd just ordered and would have to wait for.

At the edge of Downtown Denver. It used to be home to the Forney Museum, but they sold the valuable land, and moved down to a more industrial part of the city. That's now becoming valuable, so who knows.
