Every pre-Haro for sale Masi is worth posting according to my opinion…
Haro bought out Masi when the old man died, however, Masi steel road bikes are still handmade in the same shop that the old man operated out of in Italy. Somehow they have managed to maintain their name, they're called Masi Milano 3v, this bike cannot be found on the Haro website.

Currently £85 with 5 days to run
Probably because there's a cut off seat post stuck in it
It's too tall for me (probably)

Bikes: See my albums. I find that listing them here messes up searching.

>> a lot of us probably have bikes that we'd rather hold on to than sell at their market value!

True enough, and I have a few of those.
But they aren't listed on Craigslist.

It could also be a case of
"Honey, you're right. I've got three bikes listed for sale, and I'll make some room."
That usually buys at least a few weeks.

Interesting 60's Paramount - 60 cm $475

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...18573752910981

Townie build with nice parts include a kickback hub. If anyone is interested in splitting this, I could actually use the wheelset and can facilitate the rest for you. I'd be tempted to buy the whole thing if it fit me.

Potentially a good deal to be had here. I can't quite work out what is in the wood box (blue handles - Park tools??)

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/364338827

Park tool dual stand with base

$350
Listed a day ago in Denver, CO
  • Condition
    Used – good
Good park tool stand. 2 clamps and tool holder. Also have a ton of other crap

Seller also separately lists bikes and there might be a chance to get a deal when buying more than a single items as he says wants to get rid of "crap".

At the risk of drawing out those who have already forgotten more than I’ll ever know about Masi production, I’d argue that _Masi_ branded steel road bikes have not been made under the Vigorelli since Haro bought the name. Sure, frames branded Milano 3V and Alberto Masi continued to be produced, and even used Masi-branded brake bridges and supplementary small decals, but name on the down tube was not just Masi. I’m also yet to see a frame branded Masi Milano 3v, although frames branded solely Milano 3v aren’t hard to find.

That’s really the distinction and the point I was trying to make.

If you can demonstrate a post Haro takeover Milan-built frame branded solely Masi, or even Masi Milano 3v, and that isn’t a repair or repaint, I’ll stand corrected. Again.

Too bad the top was cut off. Once the buyer makes the necessary cuts into what remains of the post, what are the odds on removing it all without frame damage?

For £85 I would be prepared to invest some time and a few hacksaw blades to remove it cleanly
Unfortunately it's slightly too big for me and it won't be £85 in a few days.

Impressive dents in top tube. No drive side pic, looks like an '84. What parts are still on it? Crank should cover the cost of admission

I could remove that, with a slash cut of the post perhaps two, a threaded rod some washers, a nut and maybe a socket, tapping from the bottom upwards.

I was thinking
insert hacksaw blade to end of post
cut post carefully (by hand) down to the tube
repeat about 5mm away from 1st cut
remove 5mm piece of post by levering with screwdriver / tapping with rod / etc
Repeat on the other side of the post.

Might take a day to two, but it's cold and wet outside and I'm retired
I'm sure there are other ways of doing it, but I'm fairly sure I could guarantee not damaging the seat tube.

Hmmmm, advert says frame number H23445
Looks more like H28445:

According to https://www.hetchins.org/302b.htm H23445 shouldn't exist - prefix 'H2' started after frame number T24508 and 4508 is bigger than 3445
Could be H28445 which would be about 1960/1961 (H28112 is 1960)

Any experts on Hetchins frame numbers ?
