Youngest daughter Liz wanted thicker tires on her chrome Ochsner than the 23's and wanted gum or tan walls so I went with Gravel King 26's. Glad to see the mostly good reviews here. Funny how the Gravel named tire looks more like a road tire than the Pasela IMO.

I am one of the few who still likes 27" wheels. For me Panaracer gives me the size options and they are smooth rolling tires I am running 1" width which is just over 25mm . I just mounted another set on another one of my bikes and I love them. They are easy to mount and seat well in the rim. They are fairly light . I have been using them for less than a year , so I can't report on flat issues. I ride on mostly paved roads , but I live in an area of citrus trees(thorns) so it is a concern. I have only had 1 flat where a piece of wire found its way into the tire . Joe

Spaghetti Legs 

I’m a bit of a tire snob and believe a good tire can transform the quality of a bike’s ride. I’ve never ridden a Pasela but have used Gravel Kings and am pleased with the ride, paved and gravel surfaces. They’re a nice combination of ride quality and durability. They are 127 tpi as compared to the Pasela at 66 Tpi. In comparison the high end race clinchers like Veloflex Corsa/Master and Vittoria Corsa are 220 or 260 tpi.

Both Paselas and Gravel Kings work pretty well for me, but I kind of prefer the GKs.

The 28mm folding Pasela PT's are my go-to tires for the rough stuff, like L'Eroica. They're very light, look OK and are pretty much bomb-proof.



However, they are somewhat noisy on smooth roads and don't quite look right on a racing bike. So for local use on decent roads I prefer Veloflex Masters ....

I just switched from Continental GP4000 to Challenge Parigi Roubaix. The Challenges were aptly named concerning how hard it was to mount them. I have NEVER had a harder time getting them on. Now that they have been stretched a bit, they are a lot more manageable, but that first time? Whoa.

They ride very nice and look great.

The Challenge is a good looking tire with a classic, proven tread. For me, I just can't beat the price/performance ratio of the Conti GP4000 (or 4000ii).

Paselas are fantastic. I got the foldable 700 x 35c Pasela PTs for my 82 Miyata 1000. I opted for 35c because there was room to adjust them after switching from 27inch wheels. They ride and absorb bumps so well. Plus they look incredible. My only concerns are how thin the sidewalls are.

But overall, no regrets. I'm able to push the bike to its limits and consistently get a smile on my face. I'll consider opting for some Rene Herse 35c tires in the near future.

And yes I know the fenders touch the wheel, it moved when I was taking the pictures. Its a bit loose but once I adjust it, I'll have room for the wheel to move freely.

I really appreciate your shot of the Pasela 700x35s...that's exactly what I just bought for my rough road/bikepacking bike I'm building (though the frame I'm using is nowhere near as nice). They look beefy.

Thanks, I don't and can't measure since it's back home with her now. My impression after mounting them was that the width looked a lot like the 27x1¼ tire width.
