Listed a modern bike at $1000 firm. Get a response "Will not pay over $150.00". The bike ended up selling for $1100. That deal was interesting, but I went out of the way for that buyer, hence the extra.

Many years ago I was selling a Miele Equipe Pro with a complete Dura Ace index groupset on it. The frame was Columbus SL and the bike wasn't very old.
The bike was worth $1,500.00 Canadian, was in immaculate condition, and I had it in the paper at $750.00 FIRM. A woman phoned about and said she wanted to buy it for her son and she made an appointment to come and get it. When she got to my place she offered $250.00 and I told her to leave. She wanted to dicker and I again told her to leave as I wan't interested in dickering.
I detest low-ballers!
Cheers

I love the buyers who contact me and tell me what the bike I'm selling is actually worth - typically far below the asking price. Then they treat me like an idiot for not accepting their offer. Its not the offer that bugs me, its is the attitude. I would rather give the bike away then sell it to them.

The Pinatello Veneto (?) I purchased came with an offer lower than what I offered. Told this story elsewhere but it was a bit strange. I offered $250. He said he would have taken $150. I said "sold!" Deal done. Price was right as it was a mess with crackled paint, rust and a franken group which included DA and a Mavic HS.
