This is a great idea for a thread. And I agree with RobbieTunes, there is only one course of action.

The French will react accordingly.
They have a maddening way about them, at times, but they are real people.
I have served with Legionnaires, and briefly considered it, many Marines do.
Having dealt with the type of people who do things like what happened in Paris,
I only know and consider one course of action to be effective, and it's not "hearts and minds."

Friends,
We're getting awfully close to derailing with politics a thread that was meant to express "solidarity and friendship."

Our colors flying at half staff over French land at the Oise Aine U.S. ABMC Cemetery on Memorial Day 2014. My heart goes out to my French friends.

Indeed Robbie, Kactus and greg - not much more to be said here.
Such an an abhorrent waste. Thoughts to those affected; hopefully that's all of us.

There's nothing political about suicide bombers, IMO. Politics is something that reasonable people can discuss.

Wife and I visited Provence, Normandy and Paris this past June, and fell in love (again) with France. These deeds won't keep me from returning.

My dad had a beautiful view of the most beautiful French lady, from the 93rd floor of WTC south, from 1973-1997.

I differentiate between "reasonable people" and those that are not.

We should not forget Lebanon. France's suffering is real, but pales in comparison.
What I'd give to be able to ride a bike through the countryside of Lebanon. Wonderful people.
