Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oakley is releasing the new "Radar Lock" in April.

Almost got a pair of the Fast Jackets...but they remind me too much of baseball players.

2. buy the oakley hydrophobic pen. https://www.oakley.com/products/6730/25107 a small demo should've come with your sunglasses. it works like magic but you have to reapply periodically, especially if you wash your lenses with soap.
Colin, I started wearing Halos last summer and, you're right, they help a lot. Haven't tried the pen, though. I should probably check it out. Thanks!

Oakley radar photochromic... amazing and light, fit me really well, and they work great even in darker lighting.

i have mirrored and clear three dollar fake wayfarers. they work awesomely, and i rear pocket the other pair and can switch lenses while rolling. however, anything else like the smith pivlocks and the rudy project hypermask? id like to try some without a top on the frame.

REI sells a cheap brand called Peppers which are terrific. Well made and grippy with polarized lenses for about $40. Ive had a pair that's lasted for years.

I love fake wayfarers. Eventually the paint starts flaking off though, so I broke down and bought a pair of real ones.

I thought oakleys were worn by roadies long before the armstrong/trek era.

That may be, but it certainly has been more closely associated with that crowd now and most people probably will make that mental association as well. it's like Timberland's been around long time, but now is viewed more as urban hipster or hip hop get-ups.

Pretty subjective. I've always associated Oakleys with volleyball.

Also, I think I just found my next pair of shades : the Oakley factory pilot. Those are bad-ass.

Correct. I remember wrenching the lens out of my Blades in or about 1989, switching to the clear lens at dusk.

I have the Smith Optics Pivlock v90 and I like them except that they are really uncomfortable around the ears. I wish they were a bit more adjustable.

I just got the Smith Pivlock V2 and really like them so far. I love the frameless design.

Those look pretty good. Simple enough, but very modern looking. Just the opposite of the Oakleys that have a lot of frame. I prefer less frame for cycling myself.
