I used to organize closets and make soup when I was younger. As the years have gone on I just got away from it. I really need to start organizing again. I’ve heard it is best to start with one item and build up slowly.
As for soup, do you still need a can opener? I’ll need to get one but with the pandemic I guess I’ll have to find one online. It seems so overwhelming.

People who ask what you did over the weekend, or what ever, and you tell them you rode your bike, or hiked, or ran, X miles, they feel compelled to tell you that they really need to get back into biking, hiking, or running again? It’s almost like they feel guilty for not being active and have explain it to you that they will do better.
I got so so tired of hearing it, I now don’t tell them distances but say something vague like, I went for a ride.

A new girl at work was talking about how she is into biking. I thought; cool, it'd be a good way to get to know her. We talked a bit and tried to organize a ride together. Then some things she was saying were a little suspect. Like, she did not have the tools to take off her front wheel or she does not know how to check tire pressure.
Turns out she has a beach cruiser, wears an egg helmet and a long ride for her is about 10 km. Nothing against that, but I do not consider that "biking", that is going for a bike ride.

I think many couch potatoes find it difficult to believe that an 82 year old like myself may ride his bike 40 miles or more in one day.

They also find it difficult to believe that a bike can cost more than $2000, but they have no problem buying a $55,000 SUV and drive it around by themselves.

The one I seem to get too often is a rant about how bikes break laws or get in the way or are otherwise a pain in the ass. I've gone off on a couple of co-workers for it. One said that bikes "take up so much room on the road." The person who said this drives a full sized truck. To an office job. By themselves. So who takes up too much room again? Another said "you know the speed limit is 55mph on that road. I told them, yes, and that's a limit not a guarantee. Tsk.

My response is.
"When I drive, I break the law every time I get behind the wheel. Whether it's slow rolling a stop or right turn on red, not giving a signal for every turn and lane change or going a little over the speed limit. I have never known a motorist who doesn't regularly break the law. Do you obey all the laws all the time?"
"I have never had a scofflaw cyclist endanger me. Almost every time I drive, another motorist does."
"How do those cyclists who break the law affect you?"
