1983 Trek 850 24"

This is a long shot, but I'm looking to track down the first Trek Rough Terrain bike in the largest frame available: 1983 Trek 850 24". A close second would be a 1984 850 or 1985 Trek 850 or 870 in the same size. Frame only is fine, but handlebars would be nice, complete bike even better.

Thanks in advance!
David

I'll get to that tomorrow, for both saddles. Almost sounds like I should start a separate thread.

Good idea - it'll make the findings Googleable for those seeking the info in future.

I am looking for a 21” frame set for a Trek 750 Multitrack. Might consider a 19”.
I have a 25” (63.5 CM) Peugeot PX-10 frame set to trade. It includes a bottom bracket and a Stronglight headset. It has had the derailleur hanger tapped for a modern derailleur. Also includes scratches and patina.erP1000771 by vonfilm, on
Similar frame sets from other makes considered. Let me know what you have.

I have a bunch of Twin-Stik shifters I'd be willing to part out. Would a wing-nut from one of these work for you?

Searching for an orphan Campagnolo Record non-drive crankarm, 170mm, 9/16ths pedal thread. 70s or 80s datecodes, makes no difference. Loss of anodizing, no problem, as I'm going to strip/polish to match an orphan drive side arm. No deep scratches or gouges, please.

Hard to find for sale on Ebay, so I figured what the hey, I'd ask here. Hopefully someone has one kicking around after they broke their drive side arm in the classic Campy way

Willing to pay up to $50 shipped, if that's not being cheap. Thanks!

ISO a 25.8 or 26.0 seatpost with integrated clamp. The longer the better (within reason).

The Ideale-Brooks clamp compatibility has been checked and has failed. While one could drill out the rail section, the teeth patterns are incompatible; tried the Ideale rail holder to the Brooks clamp with no luck. Won't engage.

Brooks rail to Ideale clamp - no-go:

Ideale rail support to Brooks clamp - wrong circular knurling pattern:

Dirt drop stem with hanger

Looking for one these quill stems with an integrated hanger.
Got a Nitto Technomic about 60mm long for a trade. Or threadless stems. Or cash.

Retracting my offer from #5291 above. While the seatpost is indeed the wrong size for the Lotus frame it came in, the mismatch is 26.6mm versus 26.8, not 27.2. I also realized that my Bianchi is 26.6, so I will be using the fully adjustable (versus micro stepped) post in the Bianchi now.

For the middle one - does it have the "hanger hole" through it? It looks like it does not. The other two are more..... industrial looking than I'm after.
Thanks!

Help me find a D-5S 70x127.5 (apparently they also made a 124.5 ver. that has a 3mm shorter left taper?) spindle and you can have mine! I have a Stronglight spindle on my Gitane Grantour that I am trying to replace but I cannot find what I need. There's a 5S spindle on ebay that's the correct lengths etc. but I'm also frustratingly obsessive with what the bike looks like so I'm holding out for a bolt, rather than nut, version.

Anyone with a spindle marked D-5S - Hit me up!

These are the older style. I would guess they were discontinued in the mid to late sixties. They are interchangeable with the newer style shown by @ehcoplex.

Yup, just as obrentharris says- though I think the change came later (my '72 PX-10 has the older ones). The newer ones are a little nicer (the larger 'drum' is easier to turn) and since I've already got one of the newer ones my preference is for another like it. But, functionally they're pretty much the same, so if I can't find an orphaned 'new' version soon I'll opt for the older ones. nlerner How much would you like for a couple of 'em?
