Of course, you can't have just one:
Was: boring canary yellow 1988 Specialized Rockhopper. Now: 2012 Satin Black cruiser, 3/4" copper tubing handlebars, jute wrapped grips, 150mm Tioga T-Bone stem, flexible copper icemaker line bottle cage, 6 speed thumbies, slicks. This bike is a hoot to ride.

I almost got one for myself. I'm 35, and was asking me wife if she'd buy me that "Schwinn from Kmart". She liked it too, so it would have been a sure thing, but they left very little room for any kind of custom mods. I love the back wheel, but it can't be laced to any other hub. Little kids don't care, but to a big kid, it was kind of a letdown. I'll have to build a few myself instead.

I've been around BF for a while. One day I stumbled across Alt Bike Culture. This is what happened:
Was: boring 1981 Raleigh. Now: 2012 Comic Book Bike, red cloth bar tape, wine bottle cork bar end caps, Campy brake levers, Shimano Arabesque shifters, Snake bottle cage, Tire Savers. It took me all Winter, several bottles of wine, (not to mention the comic books). When it warmed up, I hit it with clear coat. Done on the cheap with trades. A super fun ride.

My 1920s velodrome replica, yes i did get alot of hater comments from single speed guys that only can only assemble a bike out of parts and have no idea how to machine or fabricate anything just slap together multi colored junk and call it art lol, yes its pointy and yes it looks dangerous but frame is an 1985 tour de monde thats like 50cm so its low, and this is what they ran on some of the old race bikes it was called a "lucky seven" and its was to get an aerodynamic competitive edge, my bike however is very light and did use a bit of modern tech like black anodized aluminum wheels and aluminum 3 piece cranks, modern chain aluminum "M" bars and a few other things, i do ride it alot and people trip out.

So this is the first incarnation of my monstrosity, it's changed a bit since but i don't have recent pictures of it. I'll take some in a day or two though.
Man it's changed a lot since then, I've got to take some new pictures.

I like what you have going on! I'm working on one now that's similar but more of a UTE to carry people or cargo. I've got less than two weeks to finish it for a festival so I will have pictures soon. Looking to see yours finished here soon.

So this is the most recent state of this monster. What I need to do now is build another fork to fit a 26" wheel so the pedals will actually clear the ground. Plan on putting some long swept bars on it, and once it's actually rideable stick a little motor in it.

I like your fork idea Elbowgrease. I have one I have not posted here I did a few years ago but left it hanging on the wall as work in progress.
