Bikes: 2014 Specialized Crosstrail Disc, 1995 Specialized HardRock Ultra, 1991 Trek 1200, late 80's Tunturi 500R, plus various others moving through my garage...

I ride a Specialized Crosstrail Disc with 700x38c tires. I keep them near max inflation and lock the forks for road, sidewalk, and rail-to-trail use. I air them down a bit and unlock the forks when riding the local off-road trails with my kids (teenagers). So far, I've had no issue on any of the trails up through those rated "intermediate" which include some obstacles, roots, soft sand, rocks, etc.

I've got an old Trek 3500 (rigid) that I bomb around on the advanced trails.
