Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've got my eye on that Artax GLM now. My bike would look better with a brown saddle.

As you can see from Caliwild 's photo above it is more a tan with a red undertone than a brown. It is not the same shade as any tan or brown side wall that I have owned (GravelKing SK and GP5000).

Tricky to pull off the black with brown, but can be done, and can look good.

Brown leather bar tape and a brown Brooks saddle is retro cool.

Brown and black is not.

Would you wear brown shoes with a black suit? Rhetorical question since cyclists don't suits, they wear kits.

Brown, no; but as shown above the saddle in question is more tan with red or orange undertone, which can go with black, I think.

My bike is brown. Waiting to wear down tires to get tan walls and I’ll match with brown saddle and handle bar tape
