Well, see, this is because you're not a true cognoscente, an inside tracker, you don't know 'the ****', you don't have 'a guy'.
Just like Favre pronounced his name FARV, Domane is pronounced DA-MONE. The bike was built to honor Vic Damone, who died in 2018.
This is the truth, from Burke's beyond-the-grave lips to my ear, I tell ya.
Oh, **** me, this thread is going to go sophomoric...

Talk about subliminal advertising, my bikes are Defy and Revolt...the question is, who/what am I supposed to be defying and revolting against?

I'm still riding a Trek 520 touring bike and a Trek 2200 road bike from the mid-1990s. If I could only keep one bike, it would be the 520.
I recently bought an entry-level Specialized Shiv Elite triathlon bike. I posted some photos on an online forum and was told that my position on it stinks. The Trek Speed Concept was out of my price range, and I had seen several negative comments about Trek's BB90 bottom brackets.
As several others have commented, they are both good. Go with whichever best fits you and your credit card limit.

They both make good bikes, but only one of those companies would sue for using the French town of Roubaix in the name of his bike shop (thankfully settled.)

Myself being a fan of Sagan, which is reinforced by him being my 'ex -countryman' (since Slovaks splits from Czechs), when I decided in my advanced age to buy into modern bike technology, I was considering new or secondhand bike and was eyeing Trek Domane vs Roubaix Specialized and if I went for new bike, it would have been Trek Domane.
As it is, I settled on secondhand Trek Equinox TTX 2007 and I like its beefy frame and its geometry even more than those new models from either company. But of course, that's quite a different bike from those other two.
You could say advertising and even fan appeal failed in my case.
Anyway, what is better is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.

It was tongue-in-cheek question (and I forgot the winkie emoji), as Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors. "That Thing You Do" wasn't a favorite movie, but I do remember that quote.

Trek 660. My first “real” road racer. Campy Nuovo and Modolo brakes in black with aero levers. Bought it used and rode the crap out of it until it developed a crack in the headtube. Became a trainer bike until I dialed it up to 500W and snapped the right chainstay in 1991 after rehabbing from heart surgery.

Anyway, to answer the question: I've had a few of each. a 660 and a 5200 from Trek; a Tarmac, a Transition, and a beat-to-hell Rock Hopper. All great bikes. Neither is better.

If a gun was put to my head, I'd choose Giant. Seriously.
