Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

too funny - I've been shopping for fenders for a bit and have not yet bottomed out on what I want. The frame does have eyelets and is ready to go.

One of these days, though riding that day might have been interesting with the snow packing in the space.

Dork disc

Get with the big picture will ya.Some of the cycling cloths already make us look like dorks. We don't need anything else helping the "Dork Factor".

That's the first mod I made to my Cdale. I took it out of the box, took one look at that and said...
That's gotta go, and it did before my first time on the bike.

I also flipped the stem

A kid just walked into my dorm room and asked if my cyclocross bike was a "downhill only bike. That looks really heavy duty." Trust me, the general public will not notice such details as this "dork disc."

It prevents a poorly adjusted deraileur from throwing the chain into the spokes, and it acts as a dirt magnet.

Looks like you're using the term "road" a little loosely.

I figured most from the DC area would recognize the setting. I took the day off work the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.....it was about 67 that day. I needed to get to The Awakening before it gets moved to the new National Harbor on the Maryland shore south of Wilson Bridge.

I don't know ... what makes them seem as though they are from the 70s?

The oldest one I've posted so far is from 2004 ... the newest one is from August 2007 (the Eiffel Tower one).

The color is muted and details are soft in the photos. Just an observation. No biggie.

Most of them were taken with a disposable camera (but not the Eiffel tower one) ... plus it tends to rain a lot when I ride, so it's often overcast on the verge of raining when I take the photos.
