Douglas info wanted please

Hi, just received a donation of a Douglas DC-3000 12 speed road bike at our bicycle recycle group and try as I might I can't find any info on it. Google shows some high end titanium or graphite bikes but I'm not sure this is quite as high end. Still a great looking bike but not one I've seen. I have seen other Douglas bikes on the net but never in person, not even really sure who retails them or makes them? Thanks for any leads here. I'll try and post a few pictures tomorrow.

Douglas was out of Colorado, from what I was told, and linked to Colorado Cyclist or something like that. I have had 2 Douglas frames, a Vector and a Motive. Both were really nice aluminum/carbon frame sets. I was told the Ti Douglas frames were by various builders under contracts. I had an unlabeled To frame that one builder at NAHBS thought might have been a Douglas Precision model.

I refurbished this DC7000 for a friend of mine. I had thought this was a Canadian Douglas out of Toronto but I could be mistaken as the graphics are different. This one was Columbus Matrix 'Three tubes' and Shimano SIS 6 speed kit. Nicely built frame IMO.

Bikes: Homebuilt steel

My memory is leaky these days but I seem to remember those Douglas bikes as some sort of store brand or something to that effect. Colorado Cyclist sold them and built under contract sounds right, from various sources.

I believe Clubman has nailed it for me. The DC Douglas 3000 we have looks identical (at least the graphics) to the photo he posted. All Shimano Lite Touch shift SIS components, Chromoly frame, etc. Not as high end as a Douglas from Colorado Cycle but a decent bike nonetheless. Thanks for the quick responses and for the update on policies from merziac. Great place to learn on this forum with plenty of knowledge available.
