Mercian identity and value #2

This is a King of Mercia and another lovely example. Given its more typical dimensions but more subtle finish than the Vincitore you shared, I expect the price range to be similar in the $1,200-1,500 range if you're willing to wait for the right buyer.

Really nice classic frame in a mainstream size, great colour, high end Reynolds 853, and original paint in excellent condition. Again a somewhat curious build with some hidden value in the Dura Ace stem, King cage and recent Super Record calipers. Possibly a good buy for the frame and headset, with parts sold off to defer initial expense if they didn’t suit the new owner.

I had a 2009 Vincitore Special with spearpoint lugs that I had equipped with Campy Chorus with the Skeleton brake calipers, I bought it new when I was in England, and they sent it to me, it was a beautiful bike, but I sold it to a friend about 3 years later after only riding it twice, why did I sell it? It was so beautiful I didn't want to see it get scratched or be responsible for it getting scratched, I would have been mad! Now that I don't own it, I don't care what happens to it. I got what I paid for it, so it was all good, but I miss it. It was painted flamboyant gold, and the lugs were outlined with a deep purple flamboyant the guys at Mercian recommended instead of the standard black outline. I didn't buy the wheels from them because I had a set of brand new Torelli Master Series rims which I took to a bike shop, and they built up the wheels for the bike. I had a picture of it back then, but the phone didn't have cloud storage, and the phone broke so the pics all went bye bye. It was an impulse buy too something I don't usually do.
