I think ChilliPepper advertised it as a 46, if I remember correctly, but I could be mistaken. It is tiny, and it fits me perfectly .

Mine is an '83 (KC 32018) and all the components appear original except the wheelset. The seller tried to do a bait and switch and sent me some junk wheels that had dried mud caked in the axles so hard there was no way a skewer had been in them for years. The set shown in the auction was on another bike a week later. The replacement wheelset he sent has a 6D code on the Suzue hubs while all the other component date codes are from mid '83. I like how the gold anodized rims match the rest of the bike, so no gripes here.

Suntour ARX Front DR - ZC
Suntour ARX Rear DR - ZH
Diacompe 500 Brakes - 0983 M

Non-original parts:

BTW This 52cm bike is too small for me so will be for sale soon.

Unfortunately I have currently no pics available of my '80 FullPro-L and '91 GentsRacer Carbolite.

I owned all 3 of these Dave Scott Ironman (men?), but all 3 are now in the hands of other riders.
The red one I bought new in '86, and had upgraded it over time to a 7 speed rear, with a DA RD, DA hubs
and the matching red Vuelta Airline2 rims. The other 2 (an '88 and '89) were built up from refurbished
frames with rattlecan paintjobs and homemade decals.

Why no rear brake?

I took it off because a) I can get along fine with just a front brake b) I like the way the rear end looks when there aren't any cables, etc.

I always keep everything I take off, however!

I hope that cable does not snap!

I earlier posted my '81 ProRacer and '84 ProRacer-S, both Koga Miyatas. I now also have pics of two other rides in my stable: a 1980 Koga Miyata FullPro-L and a 1984 Pro Am.

Anyone rember the IJsboerke and Capri Sonne teams of the late seventies, early nineties??? They raced FullPros (Team Miyata in the US). The FullPro-L is in fact a slimmed down and shortened version of that bike aimed at short, fast stages and time trail. My particular FPL is a custom job. There is a name engraved on top the bb housing, under the paint. Probably it is an ex competition bike. The bike has some patin. Cosmeticly there are some things, but mechanicly it is still superb! I can now agree from own experience 1st gen DA hubs really kick butt! They didn't go very well when I picked the bike up. There was some stuff in them that long ago could be considered grease. I put new grease and balls in the hubs and they go supersmooth again.

The bike is equipped with a mix of 1st gen DA and DA EX. The Nuovo Record rear mech is by Campagnolo. DA post & stem, Cinelli bar.

The frame is EXTREMELY well made, and detailling is VERY nice. The M's that are cut out the bb housing and the Miyata logos on top the forkcrown are nice touches for example. Tubing is Tange Champion #1. It is a light frame. The non custom FPL in 54 weighs 1700gr according to Koga.



I used to put more time in my pics. Hope to have nicer ones and in particular more close ups in future.

The FPL and the Pro Am:



The Pro Am resorted below the FullPros and ProRacer in the Koga line up and it was sold as frameset only. This one is built up with 600 AX/600. Though lower than the FPL, it is still a nicely made frame. Lugs look neat and have the little M's in them. Also with this bike the bb housing is open. Holes this time, no M's.

Tubing is Miyatas own Hardtlite FM-2. By 1984 Miyata had its own tubing.

I bought it at a nearby farmhouse several weeks ago. I couldn't resist - again

Friday a week ago I picked up my second FullPro-L. I have both years now. With the 1981 model Miyata strived for improving aerodynamics. Forks with less drag, stays attach at the back of the seattube, little bits that cause drag disappeared as much as possible. Of course the bike had also the DA AX groupset fitted. According to Shimano they managed to reduce drag by 20% with the AX groupset.

Weight of the 81 FPL frame is 1840gr. Forks = 640gr.

It the FPL's successor is the FullPro-A. A for Aero. That bike had dropshaped headtube, seattube and bb and was completely fillet brazed. It is not very likely I will ever get my hands on one.

I pulled out this 1979 Puch Pathfinder to take photos with the intent to sell it as I don't ride it often. It's got all the dorky bits that I actually enjoy in a bike... turkey wings, stem shifters, a chainring guard, beautiful shiny chrome steel rims, and it even has a kickstand! It also has a Suntour Spirt reverse pull front deraileur, another favorite of mine... because it just makes sense.

After taking photos and a ride and looking it over again (it's practically like new), I decided it stays.

Those Koga-Miyatas are really nice bikes, but weren't they actually built in Europe?

Seems like this thread is calling out for a shot of the downtube decal on a Kabuki I sold over the weekend. Fwiw, I've also seen this decal on other Japanese bikes.
