Possible Soloutions? <rant>
Maybe we should start prefixing all posts here with :
Fixed or SS Answers Only : <post title>
That way, when it inevitably gets moved, geared riders can be ridiculed for posting in the wrong thread.
The thing is, SS/Fix is really a sub-cult(ure) in biking. We ride differently than a lot of others. We may want to know the opinion of other people that ride the way that we do, not those of everyone that rides. That's why a lot of things are posted here, rather than the 'appropriate' forum. I kind of thought that was one of the reasons there was a SS/Fix section on this site.
Also, the sticky in buy-sell-trade for ebay fixies is a really good idea, but it should be moved here. Roadies on carbon fibers would probably care less about a 1920's track frame than they would about the color coordination between their socks, shoes and team jersey. MTBers would probably care even less. Unless they get their own thread, having one just for us really feels like discrimination. Keeping it here lets everyone know that it is a 'for sale' kind of thread, but still view new posts. And they would know that it's a SS/Fix/Track bike. Best of all worlds, IMHO.
I'm not saying that all of the threads that have been moved should have stayed here, just that some of them were asking specifically for the opinion of SS/Fix. I feel like if I post 'Best Album of 2004 to ride a Track Bike To' it's going to be moved to 'Books, Movies, Music and Entertainment' even though most people there won't have any idea how riding a track bike on the street is different...
Sorry, but it's been getting hard to follow where all these threads are now. I really like the 'View New Posts' button, and use it often. I try to stay on topic according to the board....
But would SS/Fix get the same treatment as Recumbant? If someone asked for the 'Best Album of 2004 to ride a Recumbant Bike To' would it be moved as quickly, or scrutinized as close?
I probably should have posted this in 'Suggestions and Community Assistance' - perhaps a mod can move it there?
If neccessary, blame the Jameson for this post.

I want to say something here I'm just not sure what?
There are a lot of posts here that are unique to this forum for sure but at the same time there are a lot that can be answered in the maintenance forum for example. The road forum is totally crazy with the nutty posts. Some of which should be moved off to another planet in deep space. But still it's not to say that a roadie won't be interested in a 1920's track bike. They very well may be interested in that. Blahhhhh
I think bikeforums is a very complicated system. Nice front end, the back is prolly crazy...

If it is off topic but yet strangely on topic, it belongs here. This forum is about cycles, somtimes we talk about bikes and sometimes somthing else, but we always get back to cycles, even if sometimes we are derailed we are always focused on one thing. I think i see a link, in my chain that is!

Glad to know I'm not the only one. My last final is in the morning.
