i'd be totally down with that bike if it wasn't for the color scheme and the hoods. Get some bar end levers. I'd recomend getting silver 75s or something but since I assume you dropped a pretty penny on those you'll stick with them.

That's saying a lot due to black's ability to absorb all colors. The shades of pink and green represented on this bike are, apparently, not colors at all!

Lol! I did say those are my all season tires - sorry, wasn't about to sacrifice traction for a pair of color-coordinated black slicks!
I agree with the bar end levers, but I pretty much used what I had lying around, and they are surprisingly comfy.
Dayvan Cowboy - I like the silver sugino's as well, but as a girl, I figure I can use as much pink as I want!

black can absorb all color wavelengths of light.
doesn't mean it can fix a nasty color combination aesthetic. the bike is awesome but it definitely needs some white or black tires once the snow goes away.
in addition, omghi2u.

Glad to inspire your utility build Riff. Once you get those black or pinks, it'll be all set.
All nerded out
(but it will definitely have multiple looks to it. I may take the fenders off and use the other ones

Sheer beauty Gyeswho! Thanks for keeping up the inspiration! Will you be mounting racks as well?
Photoshop gave me a view of both... I am inclining toward the black...

Thanks. I'll be throwing a rack on it from time to time
Honestly I like pink better

Decisions, decisions...
Although we're having a warm spell, I'm not fooled! I figure I have a couple of months to decide on the tire color!

That is sweet.... But I
my Brooks! It does give it a nice symmetry, though.. Maybe a pink seatpost collar instead?

Finished (sort of) my late 90's SS Trek 7000 aka my beater bike, which isnt so beater anymore:
I'll be changing the saddle and seatpost, and gearing soon. Right now it is 42x15. I'm probably going to end up somewhere around 38x16. Its mainly used for commuting. Its a blast to ride though. Having brakes makes my balls bigger!

So... I was very inspired by Gyeswho's "utilitarian" IRO, though I see that he's moved on to another epic build with the Surly Crosscheck!
Anyways, this is my version of the Mark V. It's still a work in progress. Sorry for the green tires - they're my "all seasons" and will likely be swapped out for something black (ok, maybe with some pink
) in the spring.
Frame: 53cm Mark V
Headset: CK
Stem: Thomson
Seatpost: Ritchie
Cranks/BB: Sugino 75 (165/46)
Bars: Bike Nashbar
Brakes/levers: Tektro
I've had the wheelset for a year or so: Mavic OPC, laced to Phil Wood high flange, fixed/free.

Sorry to cross post, but here's mine with the new bars. Having a blast on it :-)

that trek 7000 is sweeeet!
and that sanchez looks a little like one revolution cycles built up, with the kyotoloco cranks and all. i hate that stem though... yeesh. it would be perfect with a silver thompson x2.
this is the photo thread, crossposting is mandatory here.
here's my disker now that it's ridable:

i'll either sell it or wait till i have some money to actually build it like the cyclocross bike it wants to be. i know the drop trial bars look ****ed with that stem but it looked stupid flipped negative rise.
it's comfy, lots of clearance, and i got it for super cheap. it actually fits me now that i have cranks on it.
