Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

...

I wasn't really excited about anything I saw at the show. I spent two days walking around a bike show thinking about what kind of tennis racquet I was going to buy when I got home. I was happy to see some way overdue redesigns from Kestrel, though. The new Talon SL is going to rock and may be my next bike, if not a Bailey. The only thing that I thought was really cool were the E-Motion rollers.

The Airfoil Pro SE version also looked gorgeous(replace the blue with orange). Nice to see that they finally added an aero seatpost to that as well.
My favorite thing about the new Talon is the beefier down tube and the integrated headset. As nice as it is, though, I wish they had a more inspired graphics package for it, like the one on the Airfoil.

The Evoke is still kinda ugly, but has a fatter seat tube and appears to be designed for more rigidity. However, with the component spec they had on it(105 and Rival), it looks like it's no longer the top dog in the road line-up.

Every Kestrel rig is getting bumped down a notch by the RT900 or whatever the next progression of their new monocoque frames is.

I wish they'd sh**can that god awful thing and make an updated, stiffer, modular version of the 200sci. I had three of those over a 12 year span and I still think it's the most elegant carbon frame design ever. They did it with the 300ems, but it was way too expensive at the time.

Indeed.

The RT's are ugly and flimsy. Inexpensive and well equipped, but ugly and flimsy.

I dunno. I've ridden enough Dragonflys (not mine ... oh, the pain of selling bikes to doctors and lawyers) to give Craig a pass on the goofy stuff. Yes, even the recumbents.

Nothing from LOOK and BMC that wasn't already on the internet.

https://www.bmc-racing.com/en/corpora...s/road-series/

The SLO1 redesign looks nice in person.

Tyler's bike.

I know a lot of you hate on him, but I love the guy. He grew up in my hometown, and I still believe that he didn't cheat(Flame away, but it'll fall on deaf ears).

BTW, I think his new kit is hideous. It looks like he's the French national champion.
