I ride a Trek 7000 hardtail. It's 3 yrs old now and is one of the best bikes I've ridden.
It can hold it's own with some of the top spec bikes and is a joy to ride. A bike I wouldn't sell for any amount.
Set up is Xt 9 spd, Avid Brakes, Rolf Dolomite Wheelset with Mythos Semi Slicks & Wellgo clipless.

These are pics from the same bike that is pictured on page 4 of this thread. Pictured here is my first attempt at a studded tire. Seeing as we just got another 5 inches of snow on top of the foot-plus that we already had, it looks as though it will be useful.
Hope these pics work...
I made this with 1/2 and 3/4 inch wood screws drilled through the tread of the tire. The inside of the tire was then duct-taped to protect the tube, and an old tube was slized open and layed on top of the duct-tape to add more protection. So far, it has worked fine - the only problem was mounting it. The effort needed compared to a regular tire was much more. It grips well, and the screws through the side knobs hook up well.

Not really my ride, but its mounted on my ride for the winter trips with the snow we get up here. Only the front is studded because it is the "steering tire," and the one that needs to be kept from sliding out (And I only had one old tire to destroy). On the rear, I've got a wide Michelin with big lugs run at low pressure. This gives me plenty of traction for the winter. I ride the snowmobile/rail trails/ and heavily snow-packed regular trails with this setup. Here's the pic...

Well. She is finally compleat. I just put on my new fork so now I truly have my dream dh rig. I am going to take her out Wed, Thu and both days this weekend. After watching some of the guys I filmed this past weekend I am feeling inspired to hit bigger drops and catch more air.

Well I finally brought her home. And boy is she a beauty! Same bike but XT shifters, Hayes Hydraulics and Shimano PD-M545 pedals. Will post a real pic when I get a hold of a digi cam. Also tried to talk shop owner into throwing in a bike holder like Natofelia's but he just gave me a wierd look and banned me from the store.

I guess I'm kind of a retro-grouch. I still love my steel xc hardtail. IF Deluxe with a mishmash of LX/XT/XTR.

My god. Why dont you just type in the Chineese alaphabet! At least, with a large amount of time and effort I could tranlsate its true meaning. That sentence is like something that came out of a random word generator: a bunch of words thrown together in what appears to be a sentence, but has no meaning whatsoever.

HAHAHAHA. I agree
