This is Trailride Australia

Cycling some of the Great South West Walk in South-Western Victoria, Australia. 240kms of rolling singletrack in total, last week we did 2 x 50km sections. (that's 60 miles in the other language).

Not too shabby for what's supposed to be Winter. Thank YOU global warming.

Never let the scenery get in the way of shameless self-promotion I say

Oh yeah, looks like a nice ride.

Cool bike. My guess is that it is immune to pedaling forces. Looks like fun!

Now you just listen here jockstrap! The point behind this thread is simply to enighten the ol' Seppos here to the joys of cycling in Australia. This is not guerilla marketing. No sir-ee. It is a SIMPLE pictorial exploration of my experiences riding the GSSW!

Now, if riding such a ride is way better on a Thylacine, well....*shrug*...so be it!

This pic is taken at a literal downhill into a 90 degree corner. If you overshoot the corrner, you're fishfood.

Welcome to Winter in Victoria. I'm still amazed it didn't p¡ss down on us even once.

Check the surfers in pic 3. I was staring down at them laughing coz it was flatter than the chick in Will & Grace, then 30 seconds later in rolled some tight 1.5M swell.
So it wasn't a Surfer's Convention afterall.

Actually the creepy shot is this one.....

Yep, that's blood!

And he puts electrical tape on to stop the bleeding.

Nah seriously, does that tape hold that swing arm together? And to think I was thinking of getting you to roll me one.

Now that is creepy. *shudder*
Let me guess:
a) Slit open your leg with the pedals (fat chance, clipless )
b) Hit some poor animal that afterwards got into yourdrivetrain and splattered all over your derailleur

Cool pics, looks like lots of fun.

Actually, it was a Killer-Roo. Jumped out of the bush and attacked us, so I had to clobber it with my pump.

Okay, that's a lie. A leech had attached itself to my sock, somehow managed to get a bite in only to be squished by flying something-or-other. That anti-coagulant stuff sure did it's job, and it was only at the end of the ride I noticed my ankle was bleeding like crazy, soaking my sock and splatering all over my bike.

Freaked me out coz I didn't feel a thing.

I was searching my body frantically - "Where's that sh¡t coming from! WHERE'S IT COMING FROM!! ARGH!"
