Would someone here who has a bailey works bag mind posting pictures of it? I'm considering buying the medium 253 courier bag, but i can't really tell what they look like from their site. Thanks.

I will tell you that I just got an XL Super Pro bag. It's great. I haven't had it for very long, but I highly recommend it and much prefer it to the Chrome bag that I sold to finance it. I bought the Super Pro bag because the strap is so superior to the 253 bag, but I don't know how much junk you like to carry around with you...

yeah. as someone who's also sort of shopping around for a new bag, I'd also like some pics of a baileyworks. Somebodies gotta tell those cats that they need some freaking photos for their wares on their website. That's how you sell stuff. As much as everyone hates on Timbuk2, at least their website makes it absolutely, positively clear what you're getting. All of these bag-makers should take photos of their bags from every single possible angle. Until they think it's overkill. Then take a few more pics. Then you're finished. Sheesh.

They should have pictures of every color combination too. A color swatch is nice but you still don't get the big picture.

The pictures in the photo gallery on their site of the Boston Blackouts give a pretty good idea of what they're like. Maybe it's just 'cause Boston is close to Portsmouth, NH where they're made, but....probably 1/3 of the Mess'rs here wear Bailey's, and TONS of college kids have the 253. They're awesome bags, best other than Pac in the shoulder bag contest IMO. Now if they'd only start making the backpack again!

you dont need pictures. just get one and you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, bags used to be a real regional thing. The InterWeb and the explosion of messenger bag fashion changed that, though. Anyhow, I believe if you're set on the 253, you can still get it with the padded strap. That'd be my recommendation. Actually, my recommendation is to move up the line if you actually plan to use the bag.

I don't work downtown, but I use it for enough other stuff (commuting, rides, camping, traveling, hauling computers, etc) that it's tolally worth it.

I don't know where you live, but you may be able to stop by local shops and see one up close and personal

i have both. Started out with a 253, quickly moved on to the superpro, an upgrade i'd highly recommend. The strap on the superpro is much more comfortable. My 253 now carries my fishing tackle boxes. Its a super bag, but for riding, i'd probably say spend a bit more and get the superpro.

either way, you're gonna be very happy with a baileyworks bag. They're fantastic. I've had one 253, two superpros (sold one so i could get a different size/color) and now i have their 401K business bag -- all of them are phenomenal.

i've had the large superpro for about a month, and it is a great bag. like you, i had wished for more photos before my purchase (i wonder if all these companies are just worried about leaking design secrets or something), and it turned out that the large size is a bit too big for my current use (commuting with books/laptop). but it will come in handy if i ever live away from a grocery store or laundry mat. otherwise, if you're just commuting the medium might be the better choice. i had also considered the pac street scene, and now might wait for their "mini" size bag to come out to meet my commuting needs. the two big pluses i saw in pac were the padded back and inner tarp lining. the big plus i saw in bailey was the reversible strap.

I've been running my medium superpro as my carry all commute bag.
I've never ever run out of space. The strap is the best and completely
customizable since the strap is detachable on both ends.

I like the large myself. For example, in New York I had enough space to hold a 40, a half pint of something special, my sweatshirt, and twelver of Corona for the checkpoint volunteers plus all the usual tools and whatnot. Now really, isn't that the kind capacity you need?

also I think I'd have to start lifting weights in order to handle that kind
load without falling...and who would want to fall with THAT in your pack

They are great bags. I brought one this spring ( A large) and just love it. The shoulder padding is great and it fits so much better than my Timbuk2. Large loads are no problem.

What does this mean? And why don't you guys post some pics?!?! Come on'. I know you know how. I saw a guy with a brown baileyworks on my way to work today. He was stopped and I wanted to ogle his sack, but I continued on as I was late for work and I thought that being like, "Hey man can I look at your bag from every angle and possibly try it on and go for a little ride" was a little weird.

I've been doing mess bag website research and I've narrowed it down to either Bailey, R.E.Load, or Undertheweather. It seems like all the cool kids are going for reloads. I tried a courier deluxe on this past weekend. It felt okay, but nothing amazing compared to my Timbuk2. For something that doesn't even come with pen-holders sewn into it, the thing is friggin' expensive. I wish I could try a Bailey. My end decision comes down to how much I'll get charged for some custom design work I want done. If it's too much, I won't get custom at all and will probably go Baileys.

I actually just called and was told that NYC Velo might start stocking them within the next couple of weeks.

I didnt get a corona.

It is a medium. Flat, it measures 16" wide at the bottom and goes to 24" wide at the top. 8" deep with an interior height of 12".

Its a good sized bag for me. I'm 5'7" 135lbs.

so the super pro's strap has a plastic buckle?

Unless you're planning on carrying $120+ worth of groceries every single day, the XL is too big.

I'll post some pictures of my L. It's MASSIVE. I've taken home $100 worth of groceries without any problems. I've carried a sixpack, a jacket, my laptop (with padded sleeve), a set of cranks, handlebars, and a few books with lots of room to spare. It's really a big bag.

I've had a super pro medium for about a week now. I love it. very comfy, very big.

I just bought some pies and it held them very nicely.
