New bike = trouble in paradise!
Just picked up my brand new Madone 5.2 this weekend - F'N Hell Yeah!!!
As some of you know, I've been trying to upgrade this year since mid-March. Originally I had a Felt F2C on order but shipment delays ultimately caused me to cancel my order in July. I searched the local shops for something comparable and decided to switch to a Trek and am so glad I did as I love my new 5.2. Of course, I couldn't just find one and pick it up, the bike was a transfer from another shop (as at the time Trek had over 210 on back order). This meant another three week delay as transferring the bike was not very high on the other shops priority list. In addition, I wanted a double and this one came with a triple but for the 2-3 months it saved on delivery I'm not complaining. She's light, nimble, accelerates like a dream and oh so easy the eyes ...unfortunately, the new purchase has led to some consternation on the home front.
I was so esctatic that I decide to have a new bike toast to commerate the bike. My wife failed to find the humor when the toast was me with some Pinot Grigio and the Madone with some Pedro's...
I thought she was over-reacting a bit when she complained about us taking in a sunset together as well. OK, in retrospect it might be a little over the top. There's no beach but there is something very Khoun-esque about sunset and bikes....
The final straw came later that night... . After I realizeed what had happened I couldn't believe how much attention I had been paying to my new bike... I was ashamed
I still love my new bike, but, from now on, the Madone will be left in the garage overnight...

Ditch the Pedro's and switch to this ... I think you'll find it compatible with your new lifestyle.

From the look of the 4th picture your relationship has "advanced" past basic introductions and pleasantries. Looks like you "got a room".

Obviously your wife has a great sense of humor to aid and abet you in getting these photos!
I like the sunset one especially. Good stuff, man!

If you'd get a mountain bike now, you'd really be having a fantasy fulfilled. Unfortunately, laws in my state preclude my doing so or I'd be having a very good time tonight.
