Colnago Competition
My wife talked me into buying a Colnago Competition frame and fork today, but I can't seem to find out any info on it. Any info that you have would be most appriciated.
It's lugged steel with chromed stays and head lugs like the Master. It also has a bracket under the top tube for hanging a number during races. The dropouts are semi-horizontal and the spacing is 130mm. The serial number is C 622. A google search of "Colnago Competition" turns up mostly Dutch and Belgian pages.
I wasn't able to take any photos, but I should be able to take some tomorrow. Thanks.

Looks like a variation of the Master to me. There have been several versions of the Master with names that Colnago for legal reasons had to stop using for one reason or another.
For example the Master my wife rides was briefly known as the Master "Olympic" but Colnago couldn't use that name in the US. Perhaps they couldn't use "Competition" either? In that case yours would be a private import or one of a few before that name was dropped.
Gilco tubing sticker?

No tubing sticker, but a friend of mine bought the same frame and he has a sticker on his so I shall ask him what it says. There were several of these frames available which leads me to beleive that they were used by a team. Thanks.

It's a good posiiblity. Both the frame and I are in Europe.

Identifying Colnagos seems to require clairovoyance at times but I think a Gilco sticker would indicate a Master.

not sure anyone else produced them and also not aware that
Colnago used anything but Gilco.
given the mention of team frame I wouldn't be surprized if
the gilco sticker were left off.
