Can't get forums to be 'marked as read'

I am having problems getting the forums to stay 'marked as read'. I will have read all the new posts, gone to a different forum. When I next look at the original forum, the posts which I have just read will show as new posts. I hit 'mark as read'. I leave that forum, go to another, and come back. The forum will again show new posts. But the 'new posts' are the ones I just 'marked as read'.

If I log out, then log back in, the posts do remain 'mark as read'.

But I shouldn't have to log in and out just to mark forums as 'read'.

Have you tried hitting Refresh in your browser? Doing so worked for me.

Actually, that's when I first noticed the problem. I would hit refresh, and the same posts I had just read would still show as not having been read. Odd, to say the least. Could be my work computer, but I seem to remember having the same problem at home.

Guess I will go home and find out in a few minutes.

Anybody? Hitting 'refresh' does not solve the problem, either at work or at home.

This forum software gives the option to store this information in a database or cookie. Since this forum is so huge I can't imagine it running of the database so try clearing your cookies.

It could also be pulling it out of your temp internet files. You can either clear them or push Control + F5 to force a refresh. I'd recommend you clear them though so you're forcing a refresh on all the pages and not just the single page you control + F5 on.
