Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Custom Bag Fabric Suppliers

So it seems that a lot of us, judging by some of the recent threads want to give a whirl at making our own bags. But a lot of the materials are kinda hard to come by, at least I don't know where to get them. So I figured we could compile a list here of websites to get supplies. If the list grows into anything decent maybe it could be added to the DIY thread.

So here it goes.

www.seattlefabrics.com

Best place I could find online although their choice in Vinyl Liner Material seems a bit small, and I couldn't really find any hardware I wanted.

For those of you that think this is a dumb idea, commence flaming.

I have a joann fabrics near me and they dont sell anything legit like cordura, but i did find some duck cloth that is for outdoor upholstry. its pretty heavy duty and i think a few layers will work. its like a thick canvas. I also got some nylon for the inside. as for hardware i saw a thread that someone used an army surplus store, i think i'll hit one of those up.

i don't know how the joann's is by you, but the one by me has that same duck cloth stuff that isn't half the quality and it's 7-10 bucks a yard. it seems like it would be worth it to pay the 15 and shipping to get the real urethane coated nylon from that site.

Here's a site with a bunch of links for online fabric retailers.

I search for local backpack manufacturers and then dumpster dive their throwaways. I found a lot of high quality resin buckles/ clasps/ velcro, etc.
