Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Toronto City Councillor

From the great people at How to Avoid the Bummer Life:

"I can't support bike lanes. Roads are built for buses, cars, and trucks. My heart bleeds when someone gets killed, but it's their own fault at the end of the day."

~Rob Ford - Toronto City Councillor

HELP US FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT

We urge all friends of the bike to send a message to Mr. Ford explaining why he is way off-base. We recommend that you don't use any threatening terms or obscenities, as hard as that may be to do.

Go to toronto.ca and check out his bio and photo...

Yes, he makes me proud to be Canadian, alright.

Here's another one of his interesting offerings, "Further controversy erupted in a Toronto City Council session when Ford argued against the city spending $1.5 million on AIDS prevention programs. Ford stated that "It [AIDS] is very preventable," and that "if you are not doing needles and you are not gay, you wouldn't get AIDS probably, that's bottom line."

What a piece of work.

I urge all Canadians, and GTA'ers in particular to drop an email to council about this guy and his backwards approach to the traffic problems in Etobicoke and surrounding areas.

+ 1,000,000

I live outside of Toronto. Can't be blamed for voting those idiots into office.

a few facts about Rob Ford, I went to the same high school with this wnaker:

He has a criminal record as long as my arm, but most are juvenile offenses.

He never graduated high school.

The morons who vote for him in his riding likely think he is his father, who held the post for 20 years, and has the same initials.

Proof that idiots in politics are not limited to Republicans.

sadly one of the negative side effects of democracy is the fact someone like him is able to be voted into public office.

it seems his mouth has two purposes...stuffing it with food and saying asinine comments.
