Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Discoloration on Trek Top Tube

I've got an 06 Trek Pilot 2.1 painted white. On my top tube, I began to notice that some of the white paint has turned yellow. It's very noticeable. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I tried to clean it thinking it was just dirty, but it isn't. It is either stained or discolored. Any help would be appreciated. I'll try to post a pic when I can.

Thanks!

See your dealer, sounds like you have a new paint job from Trek coming.

I dunno why, but white stuff somehow always seems to turn yellow under the sun. Like newspapers.

The satin finish on the top tube of my 2006 BMC Pro Machine SLC01 t started bubbling up, near the juncture with the red paint (see pic). I sent it back as a warranty repair, and BMC switched out to a new 2007 frame.

Try waxing the top tube when you get the bike back. will help reflect the sweat and the sun.
