I feel like Miguel Indurain
Sorry for another 'look at my new bike thread', but I'm excited and wanted to share.
I just got into road-cycling about 5 months ago, and having been riding my uncle's bike about 3 times a week. It's a rusty 20+ year-old Gazelle Tour Vitesse, with Suntour Volante components. I have been very happy to borrow it, but it is far from a smooth ride. For a couple of months I have been searching the internet for a good second-hand deal, and this week I found one.
I found this Pinarello Banesto, with Campy Chorus 2x8, for 200 euros. I don't know what year it's from. I apologize to all OCP members for this picture that clearly breaks all the rules (flash, no garage door, not level)

I've only ridden it for a couple of kilometers but I love it already, it's such an improvement from the Gazelle.
It needs a little work, the chrome is a little rusty, but it all looks very superficial, so I think I should be able to get it off relatively easy (any tips on how to do so are very welcome). I plan on putting some new bar tape on as well, and will be on the look-out for deals on a white saddle. I will try to post an update with a better picture.

That is so awesome...
Definitely deserves a quality rebuild and refurbish. If you're not sure how to do this best yourself, please find someone who does! I'm sure any bike-nut in your area would be happy to help out. I know I would!

Very nice. But when you change the bar tape, please put some classic bend bars on it. Nitto B125AA would look superb. Not only does the current position of the hoods and bars look horrendous, when you put it level it would just look stupid (not your fault though. Just sayin)

nice one. Don't let that one go.
I have an all white one, I plan to hold on to this bike for good. I have all the original bars, stem and post but have these on it for a while.
Plus the wheels don't stay on it. the 32 hole ambrosio w/record hubs were getting worked on. I have all 9 speed record, minus the pedals and seat post.

I just scored the white Flite with Pinarello stiched on the side from ebay a few months ago. Keep looking things like that pop up now and then.
I have rubbed back the surface rust on chrome bars and forks on older bikes with Steel Wool with soap, just be very careful and then polish it a lot with a dremel or something, looks fine.
