Help needed fitting rear rod brake spring

First of all, hello. This is my first time on the forum. I'm certain it won't be the last.
I am reassembling a 1939 Rudge Whitworth and cannot for the life of me remember how this spring was fitted. (Why didn't he take pictures beforehand type questions I imagine will be being thought now) If I scratch my head any more it will start bleeding. Does anyone have something similar which they could take a picture of as my idiot guide? Please help.
Cheers
Mark

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.

This looks like a job for Sianelle!

Anyone else know?

Bikes: Retro Hercules adult tricycle, 1953 Hercules ladies roadster, 1950s Wearwell fixed gear 'Club' pathracer, 1980s Malvern Star 'Super Star', 1980s Healing GTX-105 Arabesque, 1980's Morrison Concorde & etc & etc.......

Um...... it would the sort of thing I would assemble easily on one of my own bikes, but if you asked me to describe how to fit it I'd be lost for words. Fortunately I hunted around and found a detail shot of the rear brake setup on an old Norman roadster which should help you out and save me from devising difficult to write paragraphs of description.

Fantastic, thank you so much. I will now be able to start sleeping again. I'm afraid it was the classic case of "I've built my bike back up but I have a few bits left over, oh well." I hadn't reattached the tube band which one end of the spring fits in. FOOL. Thanks again.
Is there a thread with your old roadsters on? I'd like to have a look.
