The fine line between HTFU and being stupid

May have just been crossed.

Just home from St. Patrick's celebrations. Local hammer ride is in 55 minutes.

Oatmeal is cooking, coffee is almost ready. I'm just about ready to get suited up.

Seriously stupid. I know.

Good thing I stopped drinking that nasty PBR 2 1/2 hours ago.

Bikes: Cannondale EVO, CAAD9, Giant cross bike.

That was PBR Stout, right? The Irish type of PBR...

Besides, you should have been drinking Irish whiskey...Jameson's or something...

Put a little in your coffee.

I'd be pissed if you were drunk riding next to me in the pace line. if you go you need to disclose you intoxication and stay out of the way.

I'd have fun with you as would the rest of the people I ride with. We'd make it our personal goal to see if we could get you to splatter the road with PBR. Last season we had many a rider show up for AM rides that just left the "clubs". Getting them to hurl was like a blood sport.

Riding any two wheeled conveyance after drinking alcohol is the fastest way I can think of to get yourself injured or killed. Driving a car in that condition is much safer (for you, not for the rest of the world).

Stay home in either case.

I survived, and managed to acquit myself with distinction.

The only victims of the morning were a few Tri-Guys, who received the wrath of botto for various misdeeds.

Time to sleep.

Good night.

I remember reading in the Eddy biography that after he had a night of sin he'd atone for it with a 100km motorpace session to sweat out the toxins.

You go Botto!

...of course, Eddy had likely been drinking Belgian beer. 100k is probably not nearly enough to rid the body of what PBR can put into it.

Good luck, kid.

"Kilometers" is not an adequate unit of measurement. "Years" comes closer.

if you were at the ride this morning, chances are, you wouldn't have been able to ride next to me.

you have been riding the fixie too much. next thing we know, you're gonna be throwing down in alleycats, building a formula hubbed velocity deepv (sperm style), and bolting a bottle opener to your seat tube.

oatmeal stayed where it was meant to be. good thing i opted to use water and not milk.

vis-a-vis the tri guys, i do indeed doubt that pcaddy's desk is large enough.

This comment alone would qualify botto for the Road Nazi Iron Cross.

Bikes: Three road bikes. Two track bikes.

If so... small guads those are.
