Looking for some casual SPD shoe suggestions

I hardly ever come into the commuting forum, so I searched but didn't find a lot on shoes, just pedals. Sorry if this is a repeat.

I've been wearing some Adidas Minretts for like a year now, and they're official done. Even though they're Mtb shoes, once the small sharp outsole spike wore off, they looked like any old shoe, and went great with khakis; people were always surprised when they found out they were clipless. I'll probably pick up another pair for next fall.

For now, though, with nice weather coming, I need something different. For one thing, the Minretts don't look great with shorts (unless you like the boots-with-shorts-look) and they are the opposite of breathable.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an SPD shoe that is breathable and very low-profile? I don't really care about plate stiffness, or anything like that. If I could add some cleats to my running shoes I'd be pretty content.

That looks like an interesting (but pricey) new choice in SPD sandals.
I use Shimano three strap sandals and very much like them.

What I wonder about the Keen's is how well to the secure the foot and the foot strap adjustment - unfortunately no top view image. Also if when cinched down tight if there is loose cord that could get in chain.

I like them. I needed something that looked like a shoe, not a space ship like some of the crazy cycling shoes out there. I also needed something comfortable to walk in and these are.

I like the Shimano SH-MT20 shoes myself.

They can pass for casual shoes and can just make it in corporate casual environments. They are also walkable I often wear mine when I commute to work when I don't feel like changing shoes.

I like the Specialized Tahoe, although this year's model is not as subdued as last years. The old model is still available in some sizes.

The Spec. Sonoma is nice, as are a few of the Shimano offerings last time I looked.

The Tahoe was very comfortable for me, and keep meaning to buy a pair, but haven't yet.

I second these... comfortable enough and look innocent enough. I ride these on my "campus" pedals which are platform on one side, SPD on the other. They work quite well and are stiff enough for long rides.

Man, I saw last years model (the one with yellow on it) when I picked this years model up and this years looks a lot better. I think it looks more like a "regular" shoe also.

thanks for the suggestions everyone, there are a couple I like. Anyone have any that are white (not solid white, but white in the vain of most running shoes)? I have a thing against dark shoes and shorts, just doesn't do it for me

I've been looking into getting the SixSixOne Filter SPD shoes. I wear skate style shoes anyways, and I've heard nothing but good things about these. They're a little pricey for me right now, however.

I don't have the bike version, but wear the regular Keen sandals with platforms... if you pull the strap tight you can just stick the end (it has a small plastic tab) underneath the crossed laces. No danger of chain jam.

I just picked up last years Tahoe`s. After wearing them all day at work today (I forgot to put my street shoes in my bag this morning ) and found them to be extremely comfortable and pretty low key.

I have a pair of these and I like them alright. They're very comfortable to walk around in, but the sole is a bit too flexy for my tastes (FYI, I weigh a touch over 170lbs). They run a bit narrow, so they fit my somewhat wide foot a little snug. I prefer the Lake MX101s for when I won't be walking around a whole lot, and the Shimanos for when I plan to be on my feet a lot.

anyone have any experience with these? They come in white and look like that have a much less dense sole than most of the shoes that have been posted so far. Seem like a winner if any one has good things to say.
