Attn Cannondale CAPO Owners!

I am looking for a 54cm BLACK 2008 complete bike. My LBS cannot order one from Cannondale because they are moving onto the 2009 models and they're not in stock till "july ish." Well, F that. Mainly because I am afraid that cannondale is going to hike the price $150 and add zero to the value of the bike. Specialized did this exact thing to their langster lineup to cash in on the fixed craze.

Does anyone know of a shop around them that has one able to ship?

Actually, almost every manufacturer on all bike model lines have their prices rising from fuel costs... not just Specialized, or just Fixed-gear bikes. Yes, the Capo will likely go up, but not for the reasons you cite. Specialized says that, "...price increases forecasted at 8-20% for 09 models..." so again, this is something across all models of bikes, not just 'fixed-gear' bikes. Specialized cites the exchange-rate of the dollar, as well as an "80% rise in fuel costs over the last 12 months" as factors.

Did you LBS call to check availability of the 54cm. Cannondales dealer site call on availability which means as of the last update which was friday morning they still had one to ten left

That does make sense. But my conspiracy theory is a little more interesting They are bike companies, why should they worry about fuel costs!! jk

A little birdie told me no more Fuji Tracks would be available until late July, with no spec upgrades and 8-20% increase in DEALER cost.

Bikes: surly steamroller - towniefied.

I don't believe the Capo price will go up significantly. It's my understanding that frames and parts manufactured in China are the ones being hit and the Capo happens to not be one of said bikes. I could be wrong though.

ok.. i called basically all cannondale dealers within 100 miles, ONE has a 2007 silver capo 54cm, $650, even willing to ship. Sounds like a good deal. I was fitted to an 08 so i am a little apprehensive that the fit would not be the same, any input?

Just look at the C-dale website and compare geometry between current and archived models...

Update: The geometries for 54cm (and all) are exactly the same. Buy it.
