Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pinarello FP2.....Opinions

I found an Used '08 Pinarello FP2 locally for $900. I've searched around the forums and found a general consensus that it is a nice bike for the money. Are there any oppositions to that? Its a great price for a full Ultegra bike.

Comments, Opinions?

Thanks, Jared

Bikes: Light.

Awesome.

Make sure it isn't broken before you do anything else.

Sounds like you already know the review. Nothing wrong with it , nothing special. Functions very well. Typical aluminum characteristics. Good price. Bad Wheels.

Bikes: '06 Blue Competition RC5AL w/ritchey pro fork, spinergy stealth PBO, etc.

The price for the bike new is a little high unless you think the Pinarello fork and stays are worth something more than any other brand. I don't know if I'd call the wheels upgraded, but they're definitely solid.
Still, hard to beat at that price as long as it doesn't have any issues.

Offer $800. If it fits, I'd be on it like stink on poop.

i sent him an email inquiring about the bike. His responce...\

"Hi,
The Bike is still for sale, is in excellent conditions. If you are ready to buy it from me, I will complete the transaction only thru ebay because is safe for both.

Let me know asap

Thanks"

my response to that
I do not have an Ebay account and do not wish to. If i were to purchase, i would pay cash, in person. After i get a chance to look at the bike.

even though i do have an ebay account. damn scammers (if this is a scam) we'll see what he has to say

next he'll grudgingly accept western union, then it will occur to him that maybe you can send him an extra 5G's so that he can wire you 50 million from Nigeria, then pigs will start flying out of his ahole!

Here is his response.....lol i wonder if he IS from Nigeria!

Hello,

I'm not in state presently to complete this transaction in person by cash. We'll use eBay to complete this deal because is safe for both. I live in Orlando Florida and i'll shipp you the bike via ups, i'll pay the shipping fee and insurance. You will receive the bike within 2 working days. After you will receive it you will have 5 days to test it. If is not like I discribed it, you will be refunded within 3 days.
Reginster with ebay now it's free: www.ebay.com
Ebay will take care for our deal. All you need to pay is$900.
Let me know if you agree and i'll give you more informations about how we will complete the transaction.

Thanks.

Scam

This looks like a variation of the craigslist car scam.

Refer to this https://www.fraudguides.com/internet-...list-scams.asp. These are good guidelines to follow if buying on craigslist.

I encountered this while looking for my son's first car. He found one on craigslist that was too good to be true and it was.

Ride safe

I don't know why you guys assume everything is a scam-just this morning i got an email from the Minister for Foreign Affairs in Ghana(himself!)- he wants to send me some unaccounted for $$. All I have to do is send him my info.
I can't wait.

I sent an email to Abuse@craigslist.com to see if they can stop this scammer. Gave them all the details, and included the emails.

I was crossing my fingers hoping it was legit!!! ARGGGGGG
